Jolene Madewell
Come out and hear her perform Faure's Fantasie on March 2 and April 5, 2025 at our Members' Recital and Annual Flute Festival, respectively.
Originally from Massachusetts, Jolene Harju Madewell is a flutist and teacher in Austin, TX. Sought after for her mindful approach, her teaching incorporates principles of the Alexander Technique and Body Mapping, and she is currently a licensure trainee with the Association for Body Mapping Education to teach musicians to perform with freedom and prevent injury. Jolene has presented numerous master classes and workshops, including at the University of Texas at Arlington and Florida State University. She has been a featured guest artist for the Texas Flute Society, has taught classes for Floot Fire Austin and is on the faculty for SYMS (Summer Youth Music School) and Chamber Intensive at the University of New Hampshire. She was published in The Flute View, and has been featured in interviews with The Flute Examiner, Flute360 Podcast, Music Studio Startup Podcast, Passion Behind the Art Podcast, Breakthrough Music Podcast, and more. She was a member of a social media and entrepreneurship panel at the National Flute Association Convention in Salt Lake City, and at the Flutistry Boston Flute Festival. Jolene received a Master of Music degree in Flute Performance from Florida State University as a teaching assistant. She received a Bachelor of Music Degree from the University of New Hampshire.
